What's the best way to celebrate the 200th Birthday of the Bicycle? By getting ourselves on bikes.  June 12, 1817, Karl Von Drais rolled out onto the streets on his 2-wheeler invention.   Got a classic bike?  A cruiser?  An old old jersey?  A fake mustache?  A German accent?  Let's have a little fun with this ride.

If you have any questions or need a little help learning your new bike, get there a bit early and pop into the new shop, The Community Hub on Main Street.  We are parking right behind their shop. Your bike should be in good working order:  tires pumped, brakes working and chain oiled.  Just in case you get a flat-  have what it takes to fix one (a right-sized tube and a means to get air into it).

Bike helmets are required, and a bike lock is a good idea if you plan on staying for snacks at the Tap Union or the Brickhouse - whichever one we choose.

Weather Cancels?

Ride cancelled for lightning, snow, ice.  We ride in light rain because, geez, it's the Pacific Northwest!

Description:

Did you know we have over 20 murals on the walls of downtown Vancouver?  Do you know which parking garage has a mural on the wall inside?  Which mural has pictures on the floor as well as the wall?  Which mural has over a dozen different names?  Where is the watermelon relaxing in the grass?  The surfing dog wearing a bikini?  We'll discover them all in a relaxed exploration of street art in The Couv.  Family friendly if your kids are old enough to ride with you on the streets with traffic.  If you are younger than 18, pedal with your parent or guardian.

Art goes well with chocolate and beer.  We've been known to drop by Tap Union or The Brickhouse after the ride for a little beverage and chocolate.

Registration:

Registration is not required. You don't have to be a member to try us out but we'd ask that you join if you're riding with us consistently.

Expectations:

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing.

Riders are expected to have read the club's Safe Riding Policy and  be familiar with club Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions or concerns to the ride leader or our club Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), Road IDs, cell phones, tool kit, mirrors, and pump are recommended. Check your bike and gear before you come to make sure it's in good working order.  Seriously.

You can see our route online at the Ride With GPS link above. Please communicate with your leader if you decide to go off route.

Remember - we want to be awesome representatives of the cycling community in Clark County and spread a love and respect for our great sport by obeying all traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner.  Ride safely and have fun!
