Details:

50 degrees at 10am.  No wind.  No rain.  No brainer:  let's ride!

We start from Latte Da to say hi to our city planner Anna who will answer any questions you have about the VERY COOL CHANGES planned for the west side of Vancouver.  Free cup of coffee while we chat. This is the West Side Bike Mobility project the city is planning.

Have you ridden neighborhood greenways?  We'll ride them in PDX.

Have you ridden the protected bike lanes on Rosa Parks?  We'll ride them.

Have you ridden the 2-way cycle tracks over I-84?  We'll ride them, too.

With a bit of luck, we're getting these great bike facilities on the west side of Vancouver making bike trips a lot safer, more efficient and more fun.  After the ride, tell the city we want these safety changes by taking this survey.

And what's a ride without exploring a new coffee shop?  We'll stop at Crema Bakery and Cafe on Ankeny, about mile 13.

NOTE on pace:  it's hard to ride 14mph in PDX with so many stop signs.  If you're more of a 12-14 mph person, please come.  This is a friendly group ride to explore, learn, and have fun.
Print a cue from the map link if you want one.  My printer is sulking.

Notes:

PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days.  Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order.

Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
