Details:

September weather is wonderful weather, so we'll explore and drink a little coffee.  Maybe find a donut.

Do you know the park in Portland named after the person who said, "Damn the torpedoes!  Full speed ahead!"  We'll go there.

Have you ridden the Bryant Street Pedestrian/Bike Bridge over I-5?  We will.

Have you seen the Alameda Tree Art, Roselawn City Park or the Emerson House? We'll see them.

We meet and ride from Pearson Air Museum (please park ON THE STREET) to Expo Center but we will NOT ride MAX.  However, you'll learn the easy way to get there when you do want to ride it and we can look at the ticket machine if you're unfamiliar with it.

NOTE on pace:  it's hard to ride 15mph in PDX with so many stop signs.  If you're more of a 12-14 mph person, please come.  If you want to be really speedy, this isn't a good route for you.

We ride back streets to Fremont where we have 3 choices for coffee and the option to share fresh mini-donuts if we choose Pip's.

Then we find a slightly shorter and flatter way back and over the I-5 bridge to Pearson.

Print a cue from the map link if you want one.  My printer is sulking.

Notes:

PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days.  Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order.

Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
