VBC Buddies List

The club's hub for impromptu rides and cycling chatter.

The Buddies List is a club forum and email list, hosted on the Forums tab of our website and fully searchable. Emails cover upcoming rides (usually local, occasionally regional), club activities, advocacy and volunteer opportunities, and other cycling topics. You don't have to be a member to view the forum, but you must be a member to post and to receive messages, and members can opt in or out at any time.

Want to be part of it? Become a member today and opt into the Buddies forum. Already a member? The simplest way to post is to email buddies@vbc-usa.com from the email account associated with your VBC membership, or post directly on the Forums page and open the Buddies List forum. Instructions for updating your forum preferences or opting out appear at the bottom of every message.

What you can share

  • Announce an impromptu ride.
  • Share last-minute changes to a ride's date or time.
  • Alert riders when a regular weekly or impromptu ride is cancelled.
  • Pass along cycling activities, local events, and other cycling info.

Not sure whether something fits? Review the Forums policy below, or ask us.

Buddies List and Forums policy

Vancouver Bicycle Club maintains these electronic forums to support effective online communication within the club. VBC reserves the right to revoke forum access for abusive, offensive, or inappropriate communication. Let's treat each other with respect.

The forums are meant for announcements and discussion of club activities and local cycling events and topics. They are not for promoting products, services, or businesses, and not a captive platform for private points of view. We might care what kind of chamois butter you use (maybe not), or whether you prefer Campy, SRAM, or Shimano, but the forums are not the place for politics or philosophy. Those are fine conversations to have in person, so please take them there.

If you post that kind of content, or are verbally abusive to another member, you will be warned and could be banned.

Ride safe. Have fun.
