Feeling strong and ready to grind up the Mother of All Climbs on gravel and service roads?

The first half follows a gravel path that parallels Hwy 26 from Welches to Government Camp.

The second part follows a paved service road from Government Camp to Timberline which typically sees light usage in the summer months.

Together, it's a gradual climb to reach the top, and fast descent back down.
The route stays off Hwy 26 as much as possible.

All noted locations have bathrooms.

Once rested, enjoy a speedy return down the mountain.

Guidance:
 - It can be 20-30 degrees colder at Timberline, which you'll feel coming down.
   Bring layers of clothing.
 - A rear bike light is a must.  There is occasional traffic.
 - We'll regroup at major turns, but know the route.
 - Unless you're a 19 mph + avg road rider, mountain bikes will be too slow!
 - Road bikes & tires will likely get flats or slide out.  You need gravel or mountain bike tires!

Carpooling:
It's a 50 minute drive from the Fisher's Landing Transit Center (3510 SE 164th, Vancouver) to Welches.  I will be leaving Fisher's Landing Transit Center at 8:00am .
