Get ready to discover the beautiful Willapa Hills State Park Trail. This is an ideal ride for anyone looking to try gravel cycling or just enjoy a scenic, car-free route. Even better, if you missed the "Ride the Willapa" this year, this is your chance to experience a fantastic portion of the trail in 2025!
This non-group ride covers 46.4 miles (out and back to Pe Ell), but you're welcome to ride your own distance. We'll be rolling at a relaxed 10-12ish mph pace on mostly minor railroad grades with an 851' elevation gain. Gravel can be a bit slower, so come prepared for a chill pace!
The Willapa Hills Trail offers stunning views of farms, forests, and the Chehalis River. Keep an eye out for wildlife—birds, deer, and even porcupines have been spotted! The trail surface is generally smooth, though it gets a bit rougher past Pe Ell if you choose to go further.
