About this abnormal ride -
This is a chance to explore the lower Columbia River basin, and enjoy two ferry rides as part of the bike ride. Bring $4 for the fare ($2 each way). This ride explores on an island of the Columbia River. It also travels through the wildlife refuge for the Columbian white tailed deer. Past rides have included deer and an eagle, in addition to many other birds. To give you a flavor of the ride, here are some pictures from last year. Some of these pictures are from the longer ride and are not part of this ride. Pictures from 2016 ride
The pace while riding should be about 16 mph. But this is intended as a casual and fun ride. There should be stops for pictures and to look at the scenery.
A caution: Some sections of the roads are very rough and there is a mile of gravel trail in the wildlife refuge that is rideable on a road bike.
