Greetings, fellow cyclists!
Just a gentle reminder that BikeCraft is coming up the weekend of December 15-17.
I have attended a few times and always enjoy the bike related items that creative people think of. I’ve purchased note cards (with bikes on them, of course), lanyards (which I get complemented on frequently), T-Shirts and visited with lots of people.
So, Friday, December 15, is a fundraiser for Bike Farm - the Friday Night Preview. Saturday the hours are 10-6 and Sunday 11-4. Also 11am - on: Free grilled cheese sandwiches from Franz Bread's Get Portland Baked food truck.
The BikeCraft event is at Bike Farm 1810 NE 1st Avenue in Portland. Near the Lloyd District - just off Broadway.
Some of the vendors are:
- 1 by Liz - Clocks, ornaments, and magnets made from bike parts, maps, and textiles
- Bicycle Kitty - Butt pillows, fender extenders, and crafty valve caps
- Black Star Bags - Panniers, messenger bags, and bags galore
- Clodine Crafts - Top tube covers, headbands, key fobs, and ankle straps made with Pendleton wool
- Filmed by Bike - Movies, t-shirts, and community
- Gigi's Handywork - Helmuffs, plushies, and other cold-weather accessories
- Helmet Helper - Handmade, natural helmet fresheners
- It's in My Heart - Green heart of Oregon bike jerseys and accessories
- Ivalieu - Sporty and fashionable bloomers
- Market Mule - Handmade, wooden market basket panniers
- Microcosm Publishing - Books, zines, and bike t-shirts
- Orquidia Violeta - Onesies featuring bicycles, veggies, and more

On Saturday, December 15, I am going to lead a bike ride to BIKECRAFT. The ride starts at 10 at Wilshire Park:
Ride to BikecraftDescriptionSATURDAY, December 16 RIDE TO BIKECRAFT: Distance 6-23 miles. Leaves at 10:00 a.m. from Wilshire Park at NE 36th Avenue and Skidmore. This ride ideally will take us west into North Portland then back to Vancouver Avenue to head South to BIKECRAFT at the BIKE FARM. Bring money for bike related goodies from the various vendors. Bring a pack or some means to carry home your bounty. Bring a lock. There is food available in the vicinity of BikeCraft. If the weather is not cooperative we will just head to BikeCraft using a more direct route. Non-group ride. Level A/B. Pace will be 12-15 mph.
